We are thrilled to invite you to nominate outstanding individuals and CAPs within our CAP family for our annual CAP Awards 2026 due to be held in March 2026!

This is your chance to celebrate those who have made a positive impact in your community, whether through leadership, excellence in education, creativity, innovation or going above and beyond for the children and young people CAPs target in their work to deliver an alcohol-free childhood.  

Nomination Guidelines:

  • Nominations are open from: 9am 03 November 2025 to 1pm 16 January 2026.
  • Nominees must operate within an active CAP or a CAP+.
  • The Awards are for work undertaken in 2025.
  • You may nominate individuals or CAPs in more than one category. You will need to submit a separate nomination for each one.
  • Applicants are strongly encouraged to share a draft of their nomination with their CAP Adviser before submitting the final application form on the CAP website.
  • Once a nomination has been submitted, ii won't be possible to amend the nomination.
  • Self-nominations are welcome!

Providing financial support to people experiencing poverty at a time of crisis

An Award for outstanding achievement from an active CAP as a team or partnership. We are keen to see examples of CAPs in England, Scotland and Wales that excelled in delivering their action plans.

An Award for outstanding achievement from a CAP+ in England, Scotland and Wales as a team or partnership.

An Award recognising examples of inventive or creative ways of working or finding innovative ways to deliver services.

An Award recognising excellence in alcohol education whether to young people, licensees, the community or a combination of all.

An Award recognising passion, enthusiasm and dedication beyond the norm to reduce underage drinking and its impacts.

A new Award category started in 2022 showcasing excellent work in reaching out to parents with the aim of reducing parental supply of alcohol to children and increasing knowledge of CMO guidance on an alcohol-free childhood.

Another new award since 2022, celebrating success in reducing harmful levels of drinking and increasing responsible drinking among young adults.

We aim to respond to individuals’ needs and circumstances.

Since 2017, we have also encouraged CAPs to include an objective around moderate/safe drinking for 18-25 year olds.  

Local CAP schemes are established and run by people from a variety of organisations within their communities, including retailers, to identify and tackle the problems associated with alcohol consumption by young people.
