Our newest Community Alcohol Partnership (CAP) in Canterbury launched with a joint operation in the city centre focused on the important issue of underage sales.

Partners involved included officers from the city council and Kent Police, Canterbury District Watch, Canterbury Connected Business Improvement District, Kent Trading Standards and the CAP.

Thirteen independent retailers and national supermarkets were visited and information about underage sales and keeping young people safe was provided.

There were very productive discussions with traders and support for the operation. 

Thanks to all who took part and to the retailers. Further operations on underage sales are planned in the future.
